Dr. Richard A. Berger is board certified in cardiology and internal medicine, and has more than 45 years of experience diagnosing and treating cardiovascular disease.
A graduate of Tulane University School of Medicine, Dr. Berger completed an internship in internal medicine at Charity Hospital in New Orleans and a residency in internal medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. He also completed a fellowship in cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center, after which he joined the hospital staff. Dr. Berger has also held hospital appointments at Miami Heart Institute, Jackson Memorial Hospital and the Miami Veterans Administration Healthcare System.
Dr. Berger is a fellow of the both the American College of Chest Physicians and American College of Physicians, an associate fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a diplomate in the subspecialty of cardiovascular disease. He is also a member of the American Medical Association, American Heart Association, Florida Medical Association, Florida Society of Internal Medicine and Dade County Medical Association.
In the academic community, Dr. Berger has been an associate professor of clinical medicine at the University of Miami School of Medicine for over 30 years. He has also authored publications on acute myocardial infarction and pacemakers, and has presented medical lectures around the world.
