    Dr. Gonzalez Quiros earned his medical degree at Autonomous School of Medical Sciences of Central America in San José, Costa Rica. He completed internal medicine residencies at the University of Costa Rica and Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. He also completed a gastroenterology fellowship at University of Minnesota Medical School and a therapeutic endoscopy fellowship at Hennepin County Medical Center.

    He has contributed to research, publications, and presentations on topics that include acute and chronic pancreatitis, endoscopic mucosal resection, mucinous ductal ectasia, and Barrett’s esophagus. In addition to being named a Top Gastroenterologist by Minnesota Monthly magazine in 2017 and 2021.

    Dr. Gonzalez Quiros is a fellow of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy ASGE. He is the Chair of the Special Interest Group and Vice Chair of the International Committee for ASGE. He is also the Faculty Director for the Spanish version of the ASGE STAR Endoscopic Mucosal Resection Lower GI Course. He serves as the Director of Publications for the Inter-American Society of Digestive Endoscopy. He is also a former member of the Costa Rican Association of Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy, and the Costa Rican College of Doctors.

    He speaks both English and Spanish.
