Dr. Taimi Perez is an internal medicine physician at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

Dr. Perez earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, located in Portsmouth, Dominica, and Miramar, FL. She completed her internal medicine internship and residency training at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL. During her time at Broward Health Medical Center, Dr. Perez diagnosed and treated patients with a variety of diseases. She also assessed the best course of treatment and monitored patient conditions, dieting, and disease prevention methods. Additionally, Dr. Perez led the internal medicine team and supervised interns and students, while overseeing patients.

Dr. Perez has contributed to research studies at St. Thomas University’s Research Department on topics, such as primary brainstem neuronal culture for CNS axon regeneration. Regarding presentations, Dr. Perez has contributed to various medical topics, including progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML) in young patients with HIV/AIDS and klebsiella pneumoniae meningitis. She was also involved in the Choosing Wisely initiative, led by the American Board of Internal Medicine Foundation, with a specific focus on echocardiograms for preoperative/perioperative assessment. Her clinical interests include preventive medicine and hospital medicine.
