Dr. Ricardo Palmerola is a urologist and an Assistant Professor at Columbia University’s Division of Urology at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Palmerola earned a master’s degree in Cell and Molecular Biology at Tulane University, followed by his medical degree from the Pennsylvania State University Milton Hershey School of Medicine. Dr. Palmerola then completed his residency in urology at Hofstra University School of Medicine at Northwell Health, Smith Institute of Urology, where he gained a robust experience in general urology, robotic and laparoscopic surgery alongside pioneers in the fields. He went on to complete his fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at New York University, where he trained with internationally renowned experts in video urodynamics, female urology, voiding dysfunction and genitourinary reconstruction.

Dr. Palmerola has utilized his specialized expertise to give numerous presentations on reproductive health, stress urinary incontinence, prostate disease and prevention, and vaginal reconstruction. He has also authored many professional publications and scientific book chapters on female urology, voiding dysfunction, neurourology, endourology and advanced urodynamics. He is an active member of the American Urological Association and the Society of Urodynamics (SUFU). Dr. Palmerola is fluent in both English and Spanish.
