Alfonso Tolentino, MD is Vice Chairman of Medicine and Director of Electrocardiography Laboratory at the Columbia Division of Cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine, Dr. Tolentino has over 35 years of experience treating patients with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions. He specializes in the treatment of myocardial infarction, cardiomyopathy, cardiac arrhythmia, congestive heart failure, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and peripheral vascular disease. Dr. Tolentino is also skilled in interpreting electrocardiograms and in the management cardiac arrhythmias and pacemakers.
A graduate of the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center in the Philippines, Dr. Tolentino completed his Internal Medicine residency at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Philadelphia and cardiology fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach. He has been a clinical instructor with Mount Sinai’s cardiology fellowship program for over 35 years and has been awarded “teacher of the year” multiple times.
