Dr. Rafle Fernandez is a cardiologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Columbia University Division of Cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Fernandez is board-certified in echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and internal medicine. He received his B.S. summa cum laude in Biochemistry and Applied Mathematics from the University of Miami, where went on to earn his medical degree and an MBA in health care administration from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Upon graduation, he received the Prestigious Research Distinction Award for his research endeavors in clinical and laboratory molecular biology. Dr. Fernandez completed his residency in internal medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami Miller School of Medicine before beginning a cardiology fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Fernandez has conducted extensive research published in scientific journals in the areas of cardiology, heart abnormalities, minimally invasive heart procedures and molecular biology. He is a member of various professional organizations including the American Society of Echocardiography and the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Fernandez is fluent in both English and Spanish.
