Supporting High-Quality, Compassionate Care for our Community
Now and for Generations to Come
Mark and Jo Ann Hildebrandt are Miami natives with a longstanding commitment to their community and to Mount Sinai. As fourth generation supporters of the medical center, the Hildebrandt’s family legacy has been intertwined with Mount Sinai for decades. Mark is currently serving as the Immediate Past Chairman of the Board of Trustees and prior to that, served as the medical center’s Foundation President for four years.
Mark is a trusted, successful litigator who founded his own law firm in 1986. A former court reporter, Jo Ann raised their two daughters while volunteering in children’s and healthcare organizations. The two remain dedicated to their multi-generational commitment to Mount Sinai Medical Center. “Two of the happiest days of our lives were the days our children were born at Mount Sinai. We’ve been giving for more than 30 years, and the history of our giving is a testament to how much we believe in the medical center’s mission,” said Mark.
The Hildebrandt Emergency Center is located on the main campus in Miami Beach and accommodates 75,000 patients a year, serving all residents and visitors, regardless of ability to pay. On the emergency center, which opened in 2019, Mark said, “I’ve always said that Mount Sinai is a world-class medical center with world-class doctors, and now we have a world-class emergency care facility to care for our growing community.”
The Hildebrandt’s are not only focused on high quality care, but also ensuring accessibility. “Most people think that Miami Beach residents are all wealthy or well-to-do, but statistically, more than one in four people who live in Miami Beach do not have health insurance,” Mark said. The Hildebrandt Emergency Center ensures that South Florida has access to high quality emergency care, regardless of financial circumstances.
Mark and Jo Ann Hildebrandt are continually reaffirming their dedication to their philanthropy. “We do it because we know how important it is to give back. It’s always been instilled in our family to leave this legacy of giving, especially to places like Mount Sinai that our community relies on,” Jo Ann said.
The two are excited for their two children to follow in their family’s footsteps as fourth-generation supporters of Mount Sinai, and they hope that their contributions inspire others to get involved in their communities and instill tradition.
