Jane and Daniel Och, both experienced businesspeople and entrepreneurs, have an extensive history in philanthropy. The two co-founders of Willoughby Capital Holdings are also the namesakes of the Jane and Daniel Och Family Foundation. The private, grant-making foundation focuses on education, community development and improvement, Jewish life in the United States, and pro-Israel causes, medical institutions, and research. “Our philanthropic efforts have always centered around community, education, and health care, with a focus on increasing access for those that are underserved,” Dan said. In line with this mission, their generous support of Mount Sinai Medical Center provides South Florida with accessible, high-quality cancer care.

The Gift

The Ochs feel that contributing to the Irma and Norman Braman Comprehensive Cancer Center is the pathway to enabling lifesaving medical advancements. “In 2022, approximately 1.9 million new cancer cases were diagnosed in the United States, over 152,000 of which are in Florida alone,” Jane and Dan said. “The Irma and Norman Braman Comprehensive Cancer Center will become a pioneer for life-changing medical research and discoveries for cancer patients, both in Miami and globally.” The cancer center will feature the newest technologies and personalized care plans for the most effective and accessible treatment possible.

Motivating Mission

Jane and Daniel feel that high quality, accessible healthcare is of the utmost importance. “Our hope is that the Irma and Norman Braman Comprehensive Cancer Center will become a vital source of support and a place of healing for patients and their families navigating cancer care, serving the Miami-Dade community for years and generations to come,” said Jane.
