Dr. David A. Farcy is the chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine and director of emergency medicine critical care at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Farcy earned his medical degree at Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, Mexico, and completed a Fifth Pathway program of supervised clinical work at New York Medical College. He went on to complete his residency in emergency medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, followed by a fellowship in emergency medicine and critical care at R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Farcy is the academic vice chair and associate professor for the Department of Emergency Medicine & Critical Care at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.

Dr. Farcy is a recognized national and international speaker and author of several publications on emergency medicine critical care. Throughout his career, has been commended for his response and continued dedication to leading numerous crisis relief efforts following domestic and international natural disasters in addition to rescue efforts after the September 11 attacks. His areas of clinical interests include critical care medicine, cardiac arrest, cardiopulmonary extracorporeal life support (ECLS), resuscitation and disaster medicine. Dr. Farcy is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and serves as president of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM). He is also a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Emergency Physicians and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
