Dr. James Toby is a radiologist at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology and American Board of Nuclear Medicine. He is also a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in both Nuclear Medicine and Radiology.

Dr. Toby earned his medical degree at Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University, accredited by the New York State Board of Education. He completed an internship at Mount Sinai West and Columbia University, New York, NY in General Surgery. He completed a residency in Molecular Imaging and Therapy at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY where he served as chief resident. He also completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY.

Dr. Toby holds advanced certificates of proficiency in Body CT and MRI imaging from the American College of Radiology and has completed training in Cardiac CT through the University of Toronto. Dr. Toby is a member of the American Board of Radiology, American Board of Nuclear Medicine, Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging and American College of Radiology. Dr. Toby has served as a reviewer for the Journal of Nuclear Medicine.
