    Dr. Wang earned his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University before deciding to attend medical school after his own experiences with ACL and shoulder injuries.     He completed his orthopedic surgery residency training at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, NY, and was elected Chief Resident in his final year. During residency, Dr. Wang received an Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) Resident Scholarship. He then completed his sports medicine and shoulder surgery fellowship at UC San Francisco (UCSF) in California, where he trained under nationally and internationally recognized experts in arthroscopic surgery, while serving as an assistant team physician for the San Francisco Giants baseball team.

    In addition to standard training in sports surgery, Dr. Wang received specialized training in hip arthroscopy and complex shoulder replacement surgery. He participated in translational research at UCSF and received the American Shoulder and Elbow Society (ASES) Cofield Award for his work on the impact of aging on muscle regeneration in rotator cuff tears.

    As an arthroscopic surgery specialist, Dr. Wang possesses expertise in treating a wide range of hip, shoulder, and knee conditions, such as shoulder rotator cuff injuries, hip femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), and knee ACL tears–using minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Wang works to improve the day-to-day quality of life for his patients. Whether it is competitive sports or getting back to everyday activities, Dr. Wang utilizes the latest surgical advancements to assure optimal recovery and long-term health.

    Dr. Wang has published numerous peer-reviewed journals and written book chapters on a variety of topics, including the impacts of aging on arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, long-term total shoulder replacement outcomes, factors that influence the outcomes of hip arthroscopy, and the outcomes of cartilage surgery. He has presented his work at multiple national conferences and serves as a peer-reviewer for orthopedic sports medicine journals. Ultimately, he applies this knowledge to provide high-quality, cutting-edge care.
