Dr. Laura Nunez Herrero is a gastroenterologist at Mount Sinai Medical Center, with board certification in internal medicine. Dr. Nunez Herrero earned her medical degree as well as completed a residency in family medicine and a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Medical Science of Havana in Cuba, where she was named Chief Fellow. She then returned to the U.S. and completed an internal medicine residency at Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, where she was named Chief Resident and intern of the year. Most recently, Dr. Nunez Herrero completed a gastroenterology fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in Illinois.

Previously, Dr. Nunez Herrero also served as a healthcare technician at SUNY Upstate University Hospital, a GI attending physician at the National Institute of Gastroenterology in Cuba, and as a primary care attending physician at Ana Betancourt Clinic in Cuba.

Dr. Nunez Herrero is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease, and the American Medical Association Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Dr. Nunez Herrero is fluent in English and Spanish.
