Mauricio Yomtov Bitran, MD, FACOG is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with more than four decades of experience providing compassionate, state-of-the-art women’s healthcare. He earned his medical degree with highest honors from the University of Chile School of Medicine in 1977, then served as a general surgeon in the Chilean Navy for two years before completing a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Catholic University of Chile. He went on to train further in the United States, completing an Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, and earning his designation as a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG).

    Since establishing his private practice in Miami Beach, Florida, in 1988, Dr. Bitran has dedicated himself to providing comprehensive care that blends clinical expertise with the latest technological advancements. He has delivered more than 12,000 babies, ranging from uncomplicated deliveries to complex, high-risk cases. His strong interest in ultrasound has greatly enhanced patient care, allowing for precise fetal evaluations, advanced diagnostic capabilities, and minimally invasive office-based gynecological procedures under oral sedation and local anesthesia. Access to a Level III neonatal unit ensures superior outcomes for mothers and newborns alike.

    Dr. Bitran’s commitment to clinical excellence is further demonstrated through his active participation in professional organizations and continuous certification with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a longstanding member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Dade County and Florida Medical Associations, and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. His leadership roles have included serving on various hospital committees as well as acting as Chief of Obstetrics and Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai Medical Center from 2011 to 2016.
