Vivian Sukerman Birnbaum, M.D., is an internal medicine staff physician at Mount Sinai Medical Center. She has more than 20 years of experience practicing medicine.

Dr. Birnbaum graduated magna cum laude from J. M. Vargas Medical School, Central University of Venezuela, and completed her internal medicine residency at J.M. Vargas Hospital in Caracas, Venezuela. She served as assistant professor of clinical medicine for J.M. Vargas Medical School and practiced medicine in private and public health positions before relocating to the United States in 2003. Dr. Birnbaum launched her career in South Florida with the medical management of post-transplant patients at Jackson Memorial Hospital, then completed the internal medicine residency program at Mount Sinai Medical Center, where she was named “resident of the year.” Dr. Birnbaum is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is also fluent in English, Spanish and Italian.
