Frequently Asked Questions
What is the concierge program at Mount Sinai Medical Center?
The concierge medicine program at Mount Sinai Medical Center allows physicians and patients to build closer relationships. It offers patients more attention and benefits than conventional primary care, due to a lower volume of patients. Patients enjoy access to priority scheduling, 24/7 physician access, and care from doctors who have fewer patients.
Can I choose my doctor?
Of course. Our concierge medicine program is all about choice, which means you can select from any of the premier primary care physicians and cardiologists participating in our concierge medicine program. Our goal is for you to build a long term, meaningful relationship with your physician, allowing them to better understand your health care needs and goals.
How and when can I reach my doctor?
Our concierge physicians are available by phone and/or text seven days a week, including weekends and evenings. You’ll even have your doctor’s personal cell phone and email address.
Can a patient get a specialist referral?
Yes. Patients can access more than 400 Mount Sinai specialists, and your Sinai Signature Care physician will help you select the doctor who best matches your medical needs and your personality, and guide you should you need a specialist outside Mount Sinai.
What distinguishes this program from others?
In addition to our exclusive program benefits, our concierge patients have unique access to the top-ranked programs at Mount Sinai Medical Center, including our nationally recognized programs for cardiovascular care, orthopedics, cancer, critical care, gastrointestinal care, and gastrointestinal surgery.
Additionally, unlike other concierge programs, your concierge physician also has admitting privileges at Mount Sinai Medical Center, meaning they can visit you in the hospital and direct your care if you need to be admitted for any reason.
Is there a fee for this service?
There is an annual membership fee, which will be required upon enrollment in the program. While rates may be adjusted year-to-year, we honor the annual membership fee for the entirety of the 12-month period.
Are there still charges after my membership fee?
Physician visits, specialist visits, certain tests, and surgical procedures, will be billed to your insurance. Co-pays and deductibles still apply.
Are my membership fees covered by insurance?
Our membership fees are not covered by insurance.
