Female Urology Program Overview

Mount Sinai Medical Center is proud of its team of professional and experienced urologists and urological surgeons specially trained in female pelvic health. Backed by Columbia University, Mount Sinai is South Florida’s only Ivy league-affiliated urology program, allowing us to provide unmatched expertise and clinical care to our patients.

At Mount Sinai, we aim to create a seamless experience for our patients that delivers lasting improvement in quality of life. We perform testing, diagnosis, and procedures (if necessary) on-site. Our expert physicians develop an individualized treatment plan for each patient according to their particular needs and goals.

Our Approach

As a leading medical center in the region, we offer a comprehensive range of personalized treatments to fit the individual needs of our patients. We are fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, instruments, and faculty to provide the best-in-class care and support to all our patients. Our clinical team also uses a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach by working in tandem with physicians from other specialties, such as colorectal, physical therapy, oncology, and neurology, to offer comprehensive evaluations and treatment plans.

Comprehensive and Personalized Treatment Plans

Our urologists will carefully explain all of the treatment options available to treat you. This may include non-surgical or surgical options depending on your particular condition. Our facilities have the latest technology, from in-office treatments to minimally invasive robotic procedures for sacrocolpopexy and vaginal prolapse repair. We carefully customize each treatment to ensure the highest level of care and the best outcomes.

Highly Qualified, Experienced, and Diverse Faculty

Our female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery (FPMRS) specialists (formerly known as female urology or urogynecology) have completed their FPMRS fellowships at prestigious institutions, making them highly qualified, well-educated, and experienced in complex cases. In addition, our team comprises bilingual South Florida natives representing our diverse and growing community.

Advanced Diagnostics

Mount Sinai offers Urodynamic and Videourodynamics studies in three different locations throughout Miami-Dade. We use these tests to obtain a functional assessment of the urinary tract. Your doctor may recommend this test to get better and in-depth information about how your bladder, urethra, and pelvic floor muscles contribute to your symptoms.

Mount Sinai is one of the few institutions offering more than one location to perform Videourodynamics. We can use this technology to obtain more detailed anatomical information during the exam. Additionally, Mount Sinai provides Percutaneous Nerve Evaluation (PNE) in an office setting. Your doctor may recommend this test to determine whether you are a candidate for a long-term solution for urinary frequency or incontinence.
